New Era Ibiza
Here we are again at the start of another Ibiza summer season. It wasn’t so long ago that we were waving goodbye to last year’s fun-filled activities, and now we’re ready to embrace a new beginning — in fact, a new era of Ibiza. From the clubs to the DJs, there’s a fresh new approach evident in a number of places, bringing in new faces, new names and new nights. Ibiza has been going through a change, a metamorphosis that has divided opinion in some quarters. Some love it and some aren’t so sure, thinking it’s a far cry from what some class as “the golden age of Ibiza”. Others, meanwhile, are still enjoying the very best that current Ibiza has to offer. Everything has to evolve, and Ibiza is certainly going through a period of evolution, bringing with it a new age of clubber and a new perspective on what we all know as Ibiza.
In this edition the focus is around all things ‘new’. We feature Sam Divine as our cover star, who talks to us about her own new beginnings and heading up Defected’s new day party at Ushuaia (page 24 onwards). We shine a spotlight on the new LGBTQ+ Ibiza that’s bringing a revitalised, refreshed flamboyant attitude back to the White Isle. We also dive into the new nights that will be vying for your attention, and a new breed of DJ and artist ready to make their mark on the dancefloors of Ibiza.
Elsewhere, Sammy Virji talks about the UKG renaissance ahead of his Amnesia sessions; Sonja Moonear tells us how she almost skipped Ibiza; and we discover Cosmic Pineapple’s new home at Cova Santa. We also celebrate 10 years of Glitterbox, as they continue to bring the sparkle to the party island, and get taken for a spin by Ibiza’s very own vinyl club. All this and more as we herald in the new dawn of Ibiza.
Nueva Era Para Ibiza
Una vez más nos encontramos al principio de otra temporada de verano en Ibiza. Parece que fue ayer que nos despedíamos de las divertidas fiestas, y ahora estamos listos para acoger nuevos comienzos, o mejor dicho, una nueva era para Ibiza. Desde los clubs a los DJs, hay un enfoque nuevo y fresco que se evidencia en varios lugares que traen nuevos rostros, nombres y fiestas. Ibiza vive otro momento de cambio, una metamorfosis que ha dividido la opinión de algunos. Hay a quienes les encanta y otros que no están tan seguros porque piensan que se está alejando de lo que algunos han clasificado como “la era dorada de Ibiza”. Otros, mientras tanto, todavía disfrutan de lo que la nueva Ibiza tiene que ofrecer. Todo tiene que evolucionar, y con ello una nueva era de clubber y una nueva perspectiva de lo que todos conocemos como Ibiza.
En esta edición nos enfocamos en todo lo “nuevo”. Presentamos a Sam Divine como nuestra estrella de portada, quien nos habla sobre sus nuevos comienzos y de liderar la nueva residencia de día de Defected en Ushuaïa (a partir pág. 24). Echamos un vistazo a la nueva LGBTQ+ de Ibiza que trae esa actitud extravagante, fresca y revitalizada a la Isla Blanca. También nos sumergimos en las fiestas nuevas que lucharán por captar tu atención y en una nueva especie de DJ y artista que está listo para dejar su huella en las pistas de baile de Ibiza.
Por otra parte, Sammy Virji nos habla sobre el renacimiento UKG antes de sus sesiones en Amnesia; Sonja Moonear nos cuenta que este año casi no viene a Ibiza; y descubrimos la nueva ubicación de la fiesta Cosmic Pineapple en Cova Santa.
